As a mum I feel I’ve pretty much done it all label wise – iron on, stick on, sew on (badly), attaching tags – they all have their merits. But I was really taken by these peel and stick Write Away Labels from Mabel’s Labels spotted at The Baby Show last month.
You write on the label, peel off the protective backing, seal and stick. Simple, and it means you can write whatever you want, whenever you want i.e. when you’re in a hurry and you haven’t got time to order personalised stickers. I bet most kids would love having a go at writing their own too.
Created by four mums who obviously know a thing or two about kids’ stuff getting lost, the labels are dishwasher and microwave safe, UV resistant and compatible with any permanent marker and they come with a 100% satisfaction guarantee. You can see a demo video of how they work on the Mabel’s Labels website and buy them here in the UK on Amazon. A pack of 60 girls and boys labels featuring bulldozers, sharks, sailboats, butterflies, hearts and princesses is priced at around £26.
Quick tip: Do watch the video! I peeled off the sticker before sealing the name with the protective cover – that didn’t work. Also you need to smooth down the cover as you go to prevent air bubbles. Once you get the hang of it it’s really easy – I made five labels in seconds. Sold!
